I want a graphical VB CommandButton with the following features:
* Caption and icon are visible on the button
* Allows free alignment of caption and icon (choose left/right and top/bottom alignment for caption and icon individually)
* Supports XP Styles
* Margins between text/image and control boundaries are reasonable
* Implemented in VB as a custom control
* No dependencies to uncommon components. Please tell my all dependecies you plan beforehand.
* Works with the classical theme and XP themes
* Works with XP and Windows 2000
* Provide sufficient comments in coding
* Use 3-character tabbing for code formatting
With this request I provide a VB project with my first tries. There are two buttons on the form. The left one is a graphical button supporting XP styles. However, it has some shortcomings. Click it and you will see. The right one works fine in terms of alignment but doesn't support XP styles. Your job is it to provide a good mixture of both approaches. Pretty good knowledge of subclassing and drawing of controls is required.
You only need to provide some working VB code with a sample form.
To ease decision finding provide a similar work as a reference with your bid.
Have fun.
Klemens
