Java Neural Networks

Hi, I have an interest in Neural Networks ??" and have a gut feeling that they could be applied to some of my own personal research. I would like this project to include: a) Identifying some opportunities for ANN with my existing datasets. b) Implementing at least one ANN which can be fed from an existing dataset running on a JSP. This could use an ANN under LGNU license ??" like joone.org. What I am interested is: a) Looking at how patients flow through a hospital ??" and if a ANN can somehow be used ??" and in what case. For example, to predict which ward the patient is transferred to next, or to predict the Length of Stay of the patient, or to predict when a ward will be full or to predict the status of the ward [Red/Orange/Yellow/Green] (like by looking at the other wards and information about them (such as staffing, capacity, etc)). This task would include several emails back and forth looking at a sample data set and identifiying possible projects and opportunities. Then developing some software in a JSP to test one of these opportuunities utilizing a ANN and feeding from an exisiting database that produces some meaningful results. Only those who have taken some computer science courses on AI need apply. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Java 1.4, Tomcat 4.1, JDBC
