Urgent help with PHP coding for TomatoCart

I am developing a shop using TomatoCart - software based on oscommerce.
On the homepage of the shop is a "Featured Products" module that currently shows an image, product name and price.
I would also like it to show the category.
I have updated the query to output the category id (which is working when I run the query through phpmyadmin) however, I am unable to show the category ID for each product.
I attach my updated file. Please refer to line 34 which shows the query, and line 73 which should be where the ID is output.
Any help would be appreciated.
