We have a J2ME Midlet (MIDP2.0, CLDC 1.0) which allows registered Users to access info. Until now, we have required Users to login with Username/Password, but we have decided that this is a process that could be improved with the sending of an identifying sms from the Users mobile when the Midlet is started, that sends the Users number, and a message such as "Login", or "Hello" to our inbound SMS number. The process must be silent and non-intrusive - asking the User to confirm sending the login SMS is no better than the original Username/Password procedure, so it must "just happen magically". You do not need to consider matching of User info to db, or any other processes than the above, as these are being managed internally.
