I would like to get website created for a project - the model of what I want to build is simliar to Groupon for example - not exactly the same but conceptually similiar: items added daily. items need to be searchable, and cart as well as membership/your account function possible... I work with Wordpress myself, but I am no pro - obviously I need this to be secure, safe, easily updatable (I can see this being connected to some sort of database?), and overall easy to handle. Whether this is Wordpress or HTML I don't care - the pro (you) will be able to determine better, which method meets this purpose. I am the middle man - but vendors will be selling to online visitors. So this needs to be possible. I am the middle man - other vendors will be selling to online visitors via my website. So simliar model. I cannot just built a regular ecommerce website, i think as its not just me selling to somebody, but there is third party involved.. Only a pro can tell for sure if something like this can be done in WP or HTML and whether built on a template or from scratch.
