Current project:
I had a freelancer build a very cool, responsive/custom Instagram API photo grid for me.
It's based on geolocation + hashtags that we worked together to build . After the freelancer finished phase 1 of project. I then took some time to think about phase 2. Unfortunately I lost touch with the freelancer, as he doesn't seem to be active on Freelancer anymore, and I need help finishing this!
How it was built:
Frontend is a grid of photos being autogenerated by Instagram API. Backend is admin option to add hash tags, prefixs, groups and moderate bad media.
The Developer said he used Native Javascript with [login to view URL] to build this.
The Photo grid currently pulls tags that I select all into one group(location). For example, the user picks New York (out of 5 or so locations) for the dropdown, the photo grid updates to all New York tag based photos. (with only the hash tags I chose to associate with that location). Simple Concept.
When visitor loads page/grid, before selecting a location. The geolocation determines users location and picks the closest group location to show first in set of photos.
Project Goal:
I need to finalize a few things that stopped working correctly, and tweak some of the CSS/styling as well as fix a moderation flaw. I believe there is a file path error and the one thing that used to work, just needs to be redirected.
Tasks to do:
#1 Fix whatever link path error is happening. I see everything still exists in my ftp. It's going to website/function vs the website/folder/function.
#2 Remove media function needs to actually temporarily remove media.
*User has ability to hit the X on any photo via top left of each image to report media.
Currently, if a user reports the media it goes to the admin backend of this component/app and I have 3 options as a moderator to (remove media, block user or allow)
I need to have the content stay removed via front end until I approve/ get an email alert if something was reported so that i know to look. Currently, if you refresh page after reporting media, it reappears.
#3 Mobile UI / style / CSS
a. Mobile grid should be 2 thumbs not 3 on mobile viewport
b. Make @handle/opaque container smaller @ text description smaller on phone
c. truncate descriptions to fit max amount of words/clean up so it looks good. All descriptions seem to be broken as there are margins, etc.
d. fix portrait orientation CSS.. seems descriptions are blocking image
#4 Drop down options, should only be the first dropdown to left, not 2 (center) and 3 (right) refer to image.
For live demo link is available upon request.
I already spent a good deal of money on this, and I consider this project to not be the biggest fix. I need just 5 or so tweaks. If you (The Freelancer) knows what to do, there shouldn't be any long hangups/ very high pricing for this project.
I'm available to work with you and provide you everything you need to complete this project in a timely fashion.
Thanks!
