ADS7952 ADC

I'm trying to use an ADS7952 ADC with a Raspberry Pi. There are no libraries available for the ADC so it's making my task very difficult because I also do not have the ADC on hand as I'm working remotely with others. I found a driver for the ADC but it is in C language and I would like it in Python. I have no useful experience with coding to complete this task. The ADC has 12 channels and I need to use all 12 channels. There are 3 modes; manual, auto-1, and auto-2 (specified in the ADC pdf) and I need to run auto-1. I have tried manipulating the library for a MCP3008 but that has obviously failed (those files are in the "[login to view URL]" file. The .png is a screen shot of running the first iteration of the "RAS" prgram (which is wrong and I don't know how to fix it). The "ti-ads7952" file is the driver I found. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, my name's Jorge, I am an electronics engineer with experience programming embedded devices. I have a broad experience working with the Arduino and Raspberry boards. I have read the description of your project, I took a look on the ADC datasheet, and it is needed a specific SPI library to handle the chip. I am able to do it using python as you desire, and I could send you diagram connections so your remote partners can connect the chip properly. Please contact me to discuss anything about the project, I would love to answer any questions from you, so we can start on this as soon as possible. Thanks for your time.

Hi. Which Raspberry Pi Model are you using? I have a Pi 1 and an Pi 3 Model B V1.2 for testing / development. I can not find any breakout-boards for this module. However, the IC is available from local suppliers. So ... My tentative plan would be to order this along with an IC adapter, and use that for testing and development. On the software front, routes to explore would include ... 1) seeing if the ti-ads7952 module can be compiled for the default Rasbpian kernel - use Python's C bindings if so; 2) handling the SPI communication directly - using either the Adafruit GPIO or the wiringPI libraries. If you want me to look in to this let me know. I am in Ireland.

Hello. I'm an embedded software expert with experience with TI ADCs like this. I have C code which is pretty straightforward and easy to port: all it does is place the ADC in Auto-1 mode and loops through all 12 channels, reading the conversion results into an array. I'm very comfortable with Python, especially with embedded stuff, and can port this without problems. If this satisfies your needs, contact me to discuss details.
