I require a freelancer-esk space flight system for a game I'm working on, in unity3D. This video highlights what I wish to achieve [login to view URL] (Skip to around 5:45), as does this [login to view URL]
Essentially, a system that has a "follow me" camera and mouse control, that is very similar to that in the 2003 game freelancer.
The requirements are:
-Throttle (including thruster/booster, "cruise" (higher speed) and normal speed),
-For the ship to roll relative to the camera, to a predefined bank limit,
-Drag and inertia that can be set independently from unity3Ds inbuilt system,
-The ability to "strife" sideways using keyboard input,
-The ability to upright the ship to "up" in world space, using a key press.
You may find this useful, however, should you opt to use this method, you will be paid less than if you design a bespoke system, to reflect the fact that you're basing the system you provide on an already existing piece of MIT licensed code. Additionally, should you use the below github, you will be expected to implement a system that completely removes jitter, overshoots and other instabilities.
